Mapping and folklore website for a project conducted in Wexford for the NAPD. Features a folklore collection from older people the Raheen area of Co. Wexford, plus a new collection recorded from young people from Colasite Abbain in Adamstown, Co. Wexford.


Man, Woman and Child

Website for a project I conducted for The Arts Council, Bealtaine, The National Library, the Irish Traditional Music Archive and World Music Academy.

Supported by The Arts Council. Project features nine full length concerts, plus two talks on Child Ballads from the Irish Song Tradition. Website features song notes, plus high quality audio recordings.


The Dresser Project

Website for a research project conducted with the support of the Folklore Dept of UCC, the Museum of Irish Life and the arts/heritage departments of  Waterford, Tipperary, Mayo and Carlow County Councils. Currently in process and will be completed in 2016.


Homespun

Website for a project I conducted with Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown Co. Council which looked at the domestic aesthetic, the home made and make and do. Features inputs from various people he worked with over the course of the project, including videos, text and photos.


Meet - The Mobile Irish Pub

Meet – The Mobile Irish Pub, commissioned as part of Limerick City of Culture 2014. Project involved the production of a mobile pub with a Men’s Shed Group in Southill, Limerick City, and touring the unit to rural areas and communties in County Limerick throughout the summer of 2014. Produced idea devised in 2002 in collaboration with Aileen Lambert. irelands first ever mobile Irish pub. Jan – August 2014.

Website for a project I conducted with with Aileen Lambert for Bealtaine and The National Library. Supported by The Arts Council. Project involved a group of traditional singers write a new body of songs based on the theme of a journey. Audio and film of these new songs feature on the website and also on YouTube.


Grove Street TV

About This Place

Website for a project he conducted with Wexford County Council. About this Place began in 2012 and involves a process of mapping, talking and visiting sites and in each area, and as a result uncovers untold stories and sites within each village. Villages so far include Blackwater, Castlebridge, Raheen, Taghmon, Kilmuckridge and Fethard-on-sea.


My Tara

Website for a publication project I conducted with Meath County Council which took the format of a field research project looking at untold and personal stories in relation the Hill of Tara. Produced a publication which is available from Meath County Council.


The Bird Song Project

Website for a project I conducted with Aileen Lambert for Bealtaine, The National Library and The Irish Traditional Music Archive. Commisioned by Bealtaine. This national song project saw us work in all four provinces with 35 older singers and 16 traditional singing circles on a themed performance and project based on traditional songs which reference or feature birds. During the course of this month, over 500 songs were song which referenced this theme

Website for a project I am conducting with Aileen Lambert for Wexford, Meath, Fingal and DLR County Council. Supported by The Arts Council, the project will see us work with 10 traditional singers and research and commission the writing of 10 new traditional songs for 2016.
